We're always jealous of Lauren Conrad's barnet, whether she's rocking glossy, beachy waves or a sophisticated top knot.

And now we're just a little bit in love with her latest gorgeous creation - a stunning braided updo!

Taking to Instagram, the Hills and Laguna Beach star showed off her "updo du jour" - which came courtesy of hairdresser Kristin Ess - during a photoshoot for her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's clothing collection.

This style is the epitome of wedding chic, and with Lauren's nuptials approaching this autumn, we can't help wondering whether she was practising some 'dos for her big day? Hmmm...

So, fancy copying the starlet's whimsical hairstyle? We totally don't blame you, and luckily it's easier to recreate than it looks.

We asked celebrity hairdresser Mark Hill to pass on his top tips...

1. This look is all about texture, so don't try too hard! Take a section of hair from your front hairline and braid it back so it goes below the crown of your head. To make the braid stand out, instead of taking each section of hair over each other, take them under. Use a small clear hair band to hold the braid in place.

2. Gather the rest of your hair and loosely twist it back towards the nape of your neck.

3. Coil sections of your hair around each other to create a loose bun while incorporating the braid into it. Use a few grips and bobby pins to hold in place before finishing with a spritz of hairspray (try Mark Hill Get Gorgeous! Fabulous Finish Hairspray, £5.99).
