Ashley Tisdale knows there's no better way to show off a ginormous engagement ring than with an equally dazzling manicure.

The Phineas & Ferb star got pretty nifty with the nail art brush in time for New Year's Eve, before sharing the fruits of her labour on Instagram.

Oh and she just so happened to snap her massive diamond rock too, of course...

So what do we like about Ashley's mani?

Well, white is still one of our fave talon colours (after Kim Kardashian championed the shade last year), we love a bit of DIY nail art, and our inner magpies swoon with delight simply at the thought of glittery polish... especially if it's gold!

We may not have the ring (grrr) but we'll definitely be copying Ashley's fab eye-catching design.

Here's how:

1. As always, start by applying a base coat to prevent your nails from staining.

Next, take a white polish (we love ORLY White Tips Mini Nail Polish, £5) and paint your pinky, index finger and thumb. Leave to dry, then layer on another coat for an opaque finish.

2. Grab your fave glitter polish (we'll be using Ciaté Paint Pot in Party Shoes, £9) and sweep over your middle and ring fingers. Again, you'll need to add layers to achieve a super-sparkly finish.

3. Leave to dry, then take a thin nail art brush (this Nail Art Brush Kit, £10 from Topshop, is great) and dip into your white polish.

Start by drawing a cross across your middle finger. Next, draw two arrow shapes on each side of your nail.

4. Ensure your nails are fully dry, then finish with a top coat to seal in your work.
